Carmen Whitelock is Head of Online Strategy at Arup, the global design engineering firm. Based in London, she has been driving Arup’s online communications strategy since 2008, having joined from Save the Children UK where she held a similar role. Since taking over at Arup, Carmen has been responsible for the full redesign of the global website (arup.com), as well as introducing a new governance framework and editorial policies. Last year, Carmen boosted progress further with the launch of ‘Thoughts’ (thoughts.arup.com), a thought leadership blog for experts, practitioners and enthusiasts to discuss a host of issues affecting the built environment. Originally from New Zealand, Carmen has amassed extensive international experience in online PR, marketing and communications.
